Safi Handweaving

I trained in the 1960s as a graphic designer and learned to weave on a course during the 1980s at Dartington. Myself and six other weavers from that course set up Devon Weavers Workshop, near Totnes, in 2005 - an amazing experience. The ongoing success of the Workshop has broadened my skills and knowledge of handweaving, felting and dyeing and encouraged me to diversify my range of products.

I design and weave in my studio near Houndtor on Dartmoor and often use indigo for dyeing my yarns. Colour together with the mathematical side of weaving is endlessly fascinating to me.
